HOW TO RESTORE MBR WITH DUAL BOOT PC ?
Well now I know that deleted the boot files need to boot XP. I have reinstalled 98 on my C drive, but can't boot into XP. How can I boot back into XP. I know I could reinstall, but I don't want to lose all the personalizing I did in that OS. If I get back into XP how can I remove 98 properly.

Just wanted to be careful throwing around the term "corruption," when what may be going on is simply not being able to boot back into Windows, which could have any number of causes. If in fact the Windows partition and MBR aren't "corrupted," then you might be mistakenly wiping perfectly good Windows installations

Now sad for you that you obviously don't know what 'boot' means...and that when my machine is suspended (or hibernating as you wee windows folks say) that you *do* boot...back into your saved state of course. Sleeping is different of course, you don't boot after sleeping cause your machine hasn't powered off.

Windows XP
I have a CD draw, into which go all the important CDs (and ONLY the important CDs). I know I have the disks for ... ATM Deluxe 4.0 and 4.1 upgrade, I don't know if Windows XP will set up a dual boot system. If it does, that seems ideal; anything that doesn't work, you can boot back to the old one. Aandi Inston.

How to remove Linux
I think I'm in serious trouble here, as far as getting my dual-boot back on this box. Any help is welcomed! Anyway, my .config file is very lean, with no modules selected (but If you need some modules installed, you might run into problems, as apparently the stock tools in MDK aren't ready for 2.5.xx or 2.6's.

Deleted Dual Boot
It's a very capable utility built into Win2K/XP that has not been available in prior versions of Windows. It creates, deletes and formats volumes (primary partitions and logical drives in extended When it boots it sees the G: drive as C:, but that change is not persistent if I boot back to the (G:) system dsk.

When installed, shutdown, add the old drive as a slave, boot back into your new clean install of XP and run the files and settings transfer wizard in restore mode. Point it to your old drive and the folder/file that you saved your settings in (should show up as D Drive). Then use the old drive as a backup/data

What I've done: Installed 4GB drive as master, made the orig. drive into a slave. New install of XP on 4GB drive. Boot to new OS. Boot back to the CD, again I'm prompted for the default admin PW.
